Study of rat microsurgery - graphite, watercolor, Photoshop

Process:

Used a rat dissection PVC model and personal rat dissection notes and sketches to develop the anatomical base. Researched a chosen rat microsurgery procedure, an aortic graft, in surgery video databases and microsurgery literature. Staged hands and instruments with PVC model for reference images. Compiled a final composition with hands moving microsurgical instruments in an active procedural step. Created a light study in graphite pencil and a color study in watercolor. Combined two studies digitally and enhanced with digital details.
